Buena Suerte

Hi all,

I'm sure this is partially a matter of context, but I've seen enough variation that I'm unable to discern a pattern, so I'm just going to ask.

What preposition or prepositions do we use after "Buena suerte"?

I have seen 'a', 'en', and 'con', each multiple times.

Any guidance on usage here?

Thanks Roger

Hola, amigo. It seems that they are used pretty similarly with those in English. "Good luck with, Good luck in, Good luck to."

Con

  • Buena suerte con tus estudios. (Good luck with your studies)

  • Ella siempre tiene buena suerte con los hombres. (She always has good luck with the guys)

En

  • Buena suerte en el partido. (Good luck at the game)

  • Buena suerte con tus estudios. (Good luck in (with regard to) your studies)

A

  • Buena suerte a ti tambien (Good luck to you too)

Gracias amiga. You may be right, and I was making it harder that it was. We have a lot of variance too. Good luck on your test. Good luck with your test, etc etc. - rogspax, Feb 26, 2013
